Omniscience and the Buddha’s Mind
Interpreting the Buddha’s Omniscience through the Vajrayana Tradition
A special online seminar with Vesna A. Wallace
Join Vesna A. Wallace, renowned scholar and translator, for a compelling exploration of the Buddha’s mind and omniscience through the unique lens of the Kālacakra tantric tradition.
About This Seminar
In this seminar, we will explore the ways in which two thirteenth-century Indian commentators on the Litany of the Names of Mañjuśrī (Mañjuśrīnāmasaṃgīti) spoke of the omniscience and ultimate nature of the Buddha’s mind through the interpretative lens of the Kālacakra tantric tradition. We’ll see how and why their interpretation radically departed from the early Buddhist interpretations and came close to that of Dzogchen.
