Natural Solutions To Depression

Published by admin on

The World Health Organisation has forecasted that by 2020 depression will rival heart disease as the health disorder with the highest disease burden in the world.

Coupled to this forecast, today around a third of all Americans and 40 percent of all Europeans could be classified as mentally ill, with a European study last year finding that almost 165 million people in the region suffer each year from a brain disorder of some kind.

Like antibiotics, (which are becoming less and less effective) pharmaceutical treatments for depression can only go so far (basically stabilizing the severe cases). The Reuters article below illustrates some of the problems faced by the pharmaceutical industry.

Activities such as meditation, yoga, contemplation, etc. coupled with the research that the Contemplative Consciousness Network is promoting will hopefully lead to an increase in the application of natural solutions to depression and other mental disorders.
